Marvin’s Room

Home / Marvin’s Room

Scott McPherson will be remembered primarily for this one play, first produced in 1991 and won a number of critical awards. He died of AIDS related complications in 1992 at age 33. Although not autobiographical, McPherson did draw on some of his own experiences of the US health system while writing it. While these were clearly not always of the best, he obviously did not allow them to destroy his sense of humour, his ability to laugh at the absurd. A dramatic comedy that emphasises the importance [and humour] of family.
