Directed by Louise Petherbridge, the Globe presents Richard Eyre’s recent and acclaimed adaptation of this Ibsen 1881 classic. Extraordinarily outspoken for its time, “Ghosts” was rejected by the late 19th century establishment. This was hardly surprising at it was its ideas and morals that Ibsen was questioning. Now it is regarded as one of his finest works but it has lost none of the power of its message, the drama in its relationships, or the challenges it places before the audience.
There will be an audience Q and A session with cast and crew after the matinee on Sunday 14 May. |
